Legal status and competencies of the Czech Statistical Office Abstract The rigorous thesis Legal status and competencies of the Czech Statistical Office, which aims to present a plastic picture of the Czech Statistical Office and its tasks, consists of a total of ten parts. The first part defines the concept of statistics, presents the basic milestones of the world and Czech history of statistics, as well as basic statistical terminology. The second part describes what errors and manipulations can occur when using statistics. The third part presents various entities that operate in the field of statistics, whether they are international organizations or commercial or public entities. The third part also deals with the legal status of the statistical offices of the neighboring states of the Czech Republic. The fourth part of the thesis is devoted to the history of the creation of the current Czech Statistical Office, i.e. its legal predecessors. A reminder of the basic definition of competencies, authority and jurisdiction is the topic of the fifth part, as well as the definition of the legal status of the Czech Statistical Office through two key laws. Consumer expenses of Czech and Slovak households on concrete goods after admission into the European Union

The thesis researches alcoholic beverages and tobacco consumption expenses development with Czech and Slovak households after admission of the two republics into the EU. In the first, theoretical part, specific terms, methodology and respective indicators are explained. The practical part is devoted to selected goods consumption expenses development analysis in the years 2004-2016. In the end of the practical part, contributions on total consumptions of Slovakia and the Czech Republic are compared. It is concluded in the thesis that the consumption of researched goods is not sensitive to price changes.

Evaluation of living condition in Moravskoslezsky region

Thesis on assessment of living conditions in the Moravian-Silesian region deals with economic, social and natural characteristics that create the conditions for quality of life.The first part is a literature review of the available and current resources on the topic of living conditions and their investigations within the EU-SILC and the CSO. In terms of economic indicators, the work deals with the average monthly gross wage, with the share of registered unemployment and net disposable income. Social indicators representing education, health and crime. In natural indicators is dealt with land and air, along with emissions. In the empirical part are by statistical methods of time series analysis analyzed and then predicted the individual indicators that significantly affect the living conditions of the population of Moravian-Silesian region in the period 2005 to 2014. The analysis of data was performed using the software Statistica and Excel. Finally, the work is focused on the evaluation summary and findings that emerged from the analysis of indicators monitored by the Moravian-Silesian region and its districts.

Evaluation of efficiency of selected regional branches of CSO

In today's dynamically changing times, the main objective of organizations operating in the private and public sphere is efficiency maximizing. This thesis has been based on this assumption. The main aim of this work is to provide on the specific case an evaluation of the efficiency by using methods of multiple-criteria decision-making in the public sector. The rating of individual regional offices of the Czech Statistical Office, substantially participating in data collecting by performing statistical surveys, is presented in this work, using the method of Data Envelopment Analysis. The thesis can be divided into two parts. The first part deals with the theoretical preparation. This part describes the basic terms connected with the topic of the effectiveness evaluation and a theoretical description of the method the processing is based on. The second part describes the processing itself. At the beginning of this part, there is a brief overview of the activities of the Czech Statistical Office, which is followed by an overview of the statistical survey areas. Then, based on selected inputs and outputs, the efficiency is evaluated.

Business Trip Planning and Management System for ČSÚ

The goal of this master’s thesis is to design and create the central management system for controlling business trips and journeys of Czech statistical office. The system is accessible from every possible place of Czech statistical office (headquarters, region, district) including travelling staff. System is designed for scheduling, requesting and authorizing business trips, billings, generating travel orders, providing efficient usage of company cars and minimizing usage of private cars, storing and tracking data of company cars (routes, route segments, refueling, maintenance and repairs), predefined reports for monthly / quarterly / half-yearly / annual economic output, analysis of data entered into the system. It is possible to export data into the economic systems (both predefined and user-created). Central management system has been written using Nette PHP framework with Dibi database layer and HTML script language. Database is running on Oracle.

The development of unemployment in the Czech Republic

Unemployment is an economical phenomenom resulting in possible socio-economical consequences within given area. This bachelor thesis follows progression of unemployment in Czech Republic, between 1993 and 2014. This thesis is divided into theoretical and analytical section. Theoretical section specifies characterization of Czech Republic and its segmentation. Also this part defines classification and rates of unemployment. Analytical part is concerned around progression of unemployment in Czech Republic from different approaches using data from Czech Statistical Office. Goal of this thesis is to describe and evaluate unemployment in given period, mostly from perspective of gender, education, age and geographical area. Analysis is using appropriate statistic methods.

The main aim of my work is to analyze and cement the current development of the Mora-vian countryside population with the main focus on these factors: natural again, migration, gain and total gain. The results of my analysis of the development of the population serve as a base for the typology of the countryside population. The conclusion of my work glo-bally evaluates the results and also future trends of the demographic development of the Moravian countryside population.

Intrastat and Ex Post Control of Presenting Data

The aim of this thesis is to familiarize readers with the terms and conditions relating to Intrastat and Ex Post Control of Data. The first part deals with obligations under the data collection. There are defined terms such as Intrastat, information provider, reference period, obligation to information provider and competence of government.The text is supplemented by examples that help better understand the topic. This section ends with an example that shows the overall procedure for reporting and transmission of data Intrastat. In the second part of the thesis I deal with Ex Post Control of Data which are carried out by the Customs Administration of the Czech republic. Both parts are supplemented by a number of interesting facts as information provider, number of reported data or inspections. In conclusion I am trying to identify errors and deficiencies in data collection and Ex Post Control of Data and to propose some measures that will lead to improvements in processes relating to Intrastat.
